A few weeks ago hubby and I went to Sprouts for "supplies" and like a responsible adult that I am, didn't eat dinner before going.
Teehee :") what's a hungry girl to do? Succumb to cravings and checkout like snacks of course.
Lucy's is a relatively new brand of gluten-free cookies, well new that I've noticed. They first caught my eye because of the attractive packaging. Cute huh? Reminds me of those scrapbook layouts you see in stores, with their little accessories and patterned, textured papers.
Because I'm more traditional and a "purist" for really specific things, I tend to gravitate towards the good ole choco-chips.
Although I find the package too small and expensive for my taste -- quite honestly if it's something I can make I don't bother buying it -- I am also not above expanding my horizons and splurging on something store bought.
And sometimes I just don't feel like baking/eating 2 ½ dozen cookies by myself.
I had seen the larger box but at the checkout I spotted this little "snack pack" version.
Hungry as I was I grabbed and tore into it before we left the store.
I must say, highly satisfying.
If you were ever nostalgic about missing your Chips Ahoy and whatever other pre-manufactured chocolate chip cookie of your childhood, these will certainly satisfy that craving.
This cookie is dry and crunchy, the texture perfect for dunking into an ice cold glass of (almond) milk!
Of course seeing as how I was on the run and the cookies didn't even last me the walk to the car let alone the ride home, I didn't have the opportunity to test out the resistance and absorption of this cookie with milk. But I'm sure it would've been satisfying.
As you can see also the size is about the same size as I can remember the Chips Ahoy being -- about 2 - 2 ½ bite size.
My only complaint about this quaint little cookie though might be the lack of chocolate chips!
As you can see from my pictures, the cookies don't have as many chips as the "official" product pictures might suggest.
The packaging also contains the story of Dr. Lucy herself, which is pretty moving but also echos what I've always thought, that a modified diet is by no means a limited diet.
