For my first ever gluten free product review I chose something that was already in my fridge: French Meadow Bakery chocolate cupcakes! (I've provided their logo, below, for reference.)This product is available in all the health centered food stores and I've even seen them in regular grocery stores. According to Wikipedia (because their website is unavailable) they make a variety of gluten free desserts -- including cupcakes and small cakes in chocolate and vanilla -- and a gluten free pizza crust.
The great thing about this product is that it's a ready made dessert, which is great for all you busy people. I've always seen them in the refrigerated breads section, which is where most gluten free bread products are found. If you get it fresh from the fridge, it is truly a moist and wonderful cupcake (or cake). The texture is terrific and helps you not even miss the old wheat versions.
The cons of this product however might have to be the content. The first ingredients listed are sugar and palm oil. Yikes! And at 220 calories and 27 grams of sugar (for the chocolate cupcakes), these, like all sweets, are best eaten few and far between. It should be noted that the chocolate cakes and cupcakes have less calories that the vanilla versions and the cupcakes have less than the cakes.
Another con is perhaps the taste. The chocolate and vanilla kind of taste the same: sweet. At least to me, there's not a real discernible difference as far as a more chocolaty or more vanilla-y taste, they just both taste sweet.
So since taste doesn't really matter, I just choose the lower calorie option anyway.
As with any sweet, you want to be sure and make it an occasional indulgence rather that a frequent one.

Their cake part of the cupcake is not so great. It needs to be bigger and fluffier.
Have you tried Hill Country Cupake?
They have better cake flavors and great fillings however the frosting is too grainy and needs more flavor.
