Yesterday I attempted to make my first raw food and I chose a dessert.
I loosely followed this simple recipe and used blueberries.
And when I say loosely followed I mean very loosely, as in a handfuls as opposed to concise measurements. That's probably why my crust ended up more sticky, but it's still good.
Even though the recipe calls for more, I used just one dry pint of blueberries and it looked like enough.
Yes I cheated and whipped up some vanilla cream for the top. From this angle it looks like more cream than actual filling but it's about evenly proportioned.
And a tiny bit of sugar because the blend was a bit too sour.
So although it's not entirely raw it's a pretty good delicious start.
So if you want to experiment or introduce yourself to raw food or an alternative gluten-free recipe, give it a try.
One tip: when you're soaking your dried fruit, use warm water. Thirty seconds is about enough if you get your water from the fridge filter.
